Halo: Campaign Evolved locks July 28 — and adds Operation: Meteorite

Halo: Campaign Evolved has a hard date. Halo Studios’ ground-up remake of Combat Evolved’s campaign launches July 28, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Steam — the first mainline Halo campaign to ship on Sony hardware — with day-one Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

Every edition includes the rebuilt 10-mission campaign plus Operation: Meteorite, a three-mission prequel starring Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson aboard a Covenant vessel. Premium and Collector’s Edition owners get up to five days of early access from July 23 at 8 AM PDT (July 24 in Japan and select Asia-Pacific markets).

Editions, Meteorite lore, and 25 years later

Standard is positioned around $49.99; Premium (~$69.99) adds early access, armory packs, a digital artbook, Troy Denning’s Hungry Buzzards short story tied to Meteorite, and a digital manual homage. The Collector’s Edition (~$199.99) stacks a Dark Horse Master Chief statue, LED Cortana chip, SteelBook, concept art prints, and a physical manual — Xbox Wire later noted the Collector’s kit sold out.

Cross-play and cross-progression span Xbox, Windows PC, Steam, and PS5, with Xbox Play Anywhere for digital Xbox/PC progress. Timed to Combat Evolved’s 25th anniversary, Campaign Evolved is Xbox’s clearest statement that Halo’s origin story still matters — and that it ships on more than one living-room brand.
